Color, not a new illustration
The easiest way for manga colorization to fail is not a dull palette. It is the model quietly drawing a different face, moving an eye, changing a costume or rebuilding a panel. The manga workflow therefore puts preservation instructions ahead of its color style.
It asks the model to retain face shapes, hairstyles, eyes, expressions, poses and clothing silhouettes. It also protects panel borders, gutters, speech bubbles, text, sound effects, black line art, screentones, hatching and existing shadows. The selected style controls color direction only.
Generative models cannot promise pixel-perfect preservation. Compare the output with the source at full size, especially around small characters, dense screentones and hand-lettered dialogue.

What kind of artwork can I colorize?
You can upload black and white manga pages, comic panels, character drawings and clean anime line art in PNG, JPG or WEBP format. The tool is designed for finished line work rather than rough sketches. Clear scans with readable lines, text and panel borders generally give the model the strongest source to follow.
Will the AI preserve manga panels and speech bubbles?
The manga prompt explicitly tells the model to preserve panel borders, gutters, speech bubbles, captions, lettering and sound effects. Generative image models can still make mistakes, especially on small or damaged text, so review the result carefully and keep the original file as the authoritative copy.
Can I colorize black and white manga without changing the drawing?
The workflow is designed to change color rather than redraw the page. It instructs the model to preserve faces, hairstyles, eyes, clothing outlines, black line art, screentones and shadows. AI cannot guarantee perfect preservation, so pages with tiny lettering or very dense cross-hatching should be checked at full resolution.
What is the difference between the four color styles?

Yes. Upload only artwork that you created, own, or have permission or another lawful basis to process. Do not upload pages copied from a commercial manga simply because they are available online. You remain responsible for the source material and for how you use or publish the generated result.
Are uploaded manga pages private?
Uploads follow the same storage, access and file-retention mechanisms used by EzColorize image tools. Files are processed to create the requested result and are not presented as public gallery content. Avoid uploading confidential work when your publishing agreement or client contract prohibits processing it through an external AI service.
